Richard P. Rogers (1994-2001) maintained two full-time careers: he was a celebrated director and producer and an inspiring teacher of still photography, film, and video. Rogers’ restless quest for knowledge and engagement transported him from the mountains of Nicaragua to the fountains of Rome, from the footpaths of colonial New England to the streets of working-class Albany, New York. Throughout these journeys, his unsparing artist’s eye touched on an array of topics, from art and literature to history and politics. His films spoke in many voices, from the didactic and objective to the personal and experimental.
